It was deteriorated during the Imjin War against Japan in the Year of 1592, thus reconstructed following the order of the emperor Young Jo in the Year of 1734. Finally, in the year of 1767, the Pungnam-mun reclaimed its title After the governor of this region decided to completely re-build its old glory. Hence, this architecture was named as national treasure on January 21st, 1963.
